Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Neon Genesis Evangelion, KFC Hong Kong has debuted its inaugural "Purple Awakening" collaboration across Hong Kong and Macau locations.
The flagship offering is the Purple Field Zinger Burger—a dramatic reimagining of the classic spicy chicken sandwich served on a striking dark purple bun inspired by EVA Unit-01's iconic color palette.
The limited-time menu combines standard Zinger components—crispy fried chicken, pickles, lettuce, and signature sauce—with fresh purple onions to complete the aesthetic. Complementing the main burger, the promotion brings back popular purple sweet potato egg tarts alongside sweet potato balls.
Running from July 23 to August 31, 2026, the campaign also features exclusive collectible cards and themed merchandise for franchise fans.
